Sales Catering Sales Manager

From boardroom presentations to large sales trainings to grand celebrations and ballroom weddings, our Boston event venues offer a scenic backdrop for all of your most important social and professional occasions. Offering an idyllic space for both intimate affairs and larger celebrations, our flexible meeting rooms offer an elegant setting characterized by a level of service you’re unlikely to find at other wedding venues in Boston.

Our catering and culinary team join together to exceed the expectations of our clients and their guests. Through creative menus and accommodating room set ups, we are able to provide luxurious experiences.

The Catering Manager is responsible for:

Soliciting new accounts, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to exceed Food & Beverage revenue goals.
Overseeing client functions to ensure complete customer service satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct necessary site inspections, up-selling, suggesting menus, event and activities to ensure success.
  • Organize and plan all details of the client's needs including: menus, function room layout, outside activities, meeting times, check in/out procedures.
  • Create and distribute clear and concise resumes and BEOs that detail the clients requests to all appropriate departments.
  • Ensure that all billing and charges for services are rendered.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years as a hotel catering sales manager.
  • 4 year college degree preferred.

Brasserie JO Saucier at Brasserie JO

Brasserie JO offers flavorful cuisine and carefully-crafted dishes from the direction of world-renowned direction of Chef Jean Joho. Embracing the style and cuisine of a French brasserie, Brasserie JO, has a menu full of light snacks and fuller meals that will please even the most discerning diner. Saucier is responsible for overall kitchen production, sauces, and soups for a  busy kitchen in accordance with quality and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for labels, dates, and proper temperatures for all soups and sauces.
  • Ensure proper presentation of supporting kitchen.
  • Ensure proper soup/sauce rotation and production.
  • Any other job responsibilities requested by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.

Reservations Reservations Agent


Book reservations for hotel guest rooms and interact with the public via phone in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Answer questions and provide information about hotel resources.  To maximize hotel room rates and occupancy using effective up selling and suggestive selling methods.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Answer the telephone and greet prospective guests in a friendly manner using clear, verbal communication.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests for reservations.
  • Promptly provide accurate information regarding availability, accommodation types, transportation to and from hotel, rate, etc.
  • Answer questions regarding hotel facilities and services, local attractions, directions, etc.
  • Communicate applicable deposit and guarantee policies as requested.
  • Enters all Sales bookings and group contracts on a timely basis per the instructions of the Supervisor or Reservations Manager.       
  • Performs routine filing and required report keeping for the department.    

Skills, Abilities and Experience needed to be successful

  • Accurately Input Book reservations into computer system. 
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills required.
  • Extensive customer service or telephone experience required.
  • Prior communications, reservations, hospitality and/or computer experience preferred.

Maintenance General Maintenance Engineer


A General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills to respond to guest room calls.

Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:

Prepare and paint surfaces of building structure, furniture and equipment using proper application techniques and various products.  Knowledge in plaster or spackle applications, drywall installation, repair and finishing, mixing paint colors to match existing colors, and applying paint to all. Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the Hotel. Perform all duties required as Fire Alarm Response Team.

Skills, Abilities and Experience needed to be successful

  • A minimum of one year building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred.
  • Good customer skills are also required.
  • Possess visual ability to identify colors and patterns, measure lengths and quantities and assess areas for repair.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have all around skills and be able to make minor electrical, plumbing, a/c, painting, wallpaper and carpentry repairs.
  • Knowledge of vinyl, paper, fabric, and wall coverings of various weights is preferred
  • Must possess a high level of accuracy and neatness.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. 

Licenses or Certificates

Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. 
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.   
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors.  Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. 
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and repair/maintenance tasks.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

Position Objective Overview:

To provide a warm, welcoming greeting to our guests, and to ensure that the guests’ dining experience is

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, and then escort them to their table and present menu.
  • Control heavy volume at Restaurant entrance.
  • Maintain proper set-up of dining room, including the maintenance of the apple basket at stand.
  • Attend to and anticipate guest’s needs.
  • Familiarization with menu.
  • Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communicate between shifts and management.

Sales Group Sales Manager


This position is accountable for proactively soliciting and handling hotel sales opportunities.  Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. Assists in leading all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Participates in sales calls, phone solicitation/prospecting, market analysis to acquire new business and/or close on business
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)
  • Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals
  • Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and can sell against them

Maintenance Facilities Manager

The Colonnade Hotel is nestled among Boston's finest cultural venues and most exciting shops in the heart of Boston's historic Back Bay, with 285 elegantly appointed rooms and luxury suites.

This challenging position has overall responsibility for performing maintenance and repairs, and preventative maintenance, to all areas of the hotel. You will perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, guestrooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating/air conditioning, ventilation, and water treatment systems, and swimming pool and ensure that equipment is prepared and operational for the following day's work. The Facilities Manager manages the preventative maintenance program while monitoring and securing inventory and following established ordering procedures to replenish supplies and inventory and minimize waste.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

This role is responsible to inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees or resort assets and provide input on the annual departmental operating budget. You will promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. You may assist with other duties as assigned.

High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree or related technical school degree preferred.


  • Ability to remain calm, responsive and friendly under pressure.
