Chef Jean Joho greeted with champagne and applause at The Colonnade Hotel
Chef Joho named 2007 James Beard Award Nominee for Outstanding Chef
BOSTON, MA - - Chef Jean Joho, the culinary director and creator of The Colonnade Hotel’s restaurant Brasserie JO, was toasted by David Colella, hotel managing director and staff for his 2007 James Beard Nomination for Outstanding Chef.
Today’s surprise welcome for Chef Joho included champagne and a warm round of applause from Brasserie JO and The Colonnade Hotel staff, who were waiving miniature French flags in his honor. Chef Joho was back in Boston today for one of his regular meetings with Olivier Rigaud, Chef de Cuisine for Brasserie JO.
To be nominated for the prestigious James Beard Outstanding Chef Award, you must be a working chef who has set national industry standards and served as an inspiration to others in the culinary industry. Chef Joho, who was nominated for his restaurant Everest in Chicago, is the only chef with a Boston restaurant nominated in this category.
The menu Chef Joho created for Brasserie JO reflects his roots in traditional and rustic French fare and includes some treasured family recipes. Chef Joho is also the owner of the acclaimed Everest and Brasserie JO in Chicago and the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Las Vegas.
Brasserie JO is located at The Colonnade Hotel 120 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA. Brasserie JO serves brunch on Saturdays and Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m. and lunch is available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is held Monday through Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 5 to 10 p.m. The bar serves a special menu Monday through Thursday from 11 to 1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 to 1:30 a.m. The telephone number is 617-425-3240.
